Visitors' book

Staff come in two forms: essential and indulgent.  The essential is set out below, but includes a modicum of indulgence as well, especially the morning bread-run with fresh croissant and baguettes or the pleasure or not having to cook.  Indulgences though perhaps less necessary can reach the parts that other pampering can't...

Housekeeper

On arrival the rooms will be ready with beds made up and clean towels for the bath and the pool. When appropriate the drawing room log fire will be lit to welcome you.

Our housekeeper, Rose, will spend 24 hours over six days - Monday to Saturday - looking after you and the house.  Within this time her tasks include:

• Personalised set-up of the house for your party

• The morning bread run - place your order with Rose with some cash the night before and bread and croissants etc. will be on your breakfast table by 8.30 AM

• Turning out each bedroom and bathroom daily including making the beds

• Keeping the house clean

• Kitchen cleaning and emptying the bins

• Laundering and providing clean linen and towels weekly

• Checking the pool and removing floating carcasses

Rose is very flexible and happy to give you extra help (12 Euros/hour) with any of the following:

• Lunch and/or dinner - preparation of vegetables, salads etc., clearing away, loading the dishwasher and washing up

• Personal laundry and ironing

• Baby sitting

Additional time from Rose should preferably be booked in advance, but may also be agreed with her when on site if still available.

Chefs

We have four options we can help you to arrange:

1. A Chef for all meals: Frederique - professional French Fusion cuisine see below for details

Chef Frédérique comes from Toulouse and stays locally for part or the whole of the duration of your stay.  According to your wishes she will plan menus from delicious family fare to “haute gastronomie”, through buffet (pictured above) or dinner party, then shop and cook your meals.

2. A Chef for the odd dinner: Alain - professional French cuisine
   
   If you just want a Chef for one or more evenings for dinner who is able to cook your special favourite French menu, ask for Alain.  He's happy and able to cook any French gastronomic classics as he used to run his own restaurant in Normandy.  He will come over from his daytime new brasserie in Barbothan and create just a unique "French restaurant at home" experience...  Alain has only basic English.
    

3. A Chef for lunch: Pat - French-inspired English cooking
   
   An English lady with a gift for delicious family cooking who retired to Gascony a few years ago, Pat is the perfect cook for a delicious summer lunch at the house.
   
    

4. Chefs' food delivered:
   
   Alain (famous for his quiches) and Pat (her chicken salad with coriander is fab') are happy to prepare menus of various styles and leave them with you with serving/heating instructions so you can easily enjoy them in your own time and privacy: here's something prepared earlier!

Gardening

The house, grounds and swimming pool are all maintained to a high standard day to day by Rose, and with the regular help of Philippe our groundsman and René our pool maintenance man.

Pool cleaning

The pool is filtered through a saline system which is kind to eyes, hair and costumes and is monitored by a bi-weekly visit from pool professionals.
